Florence Paddle Games | 2019
Stand Up Paddling comes in Florence. The charming Tuscany capital city is an iconic location to host a SUP competition. The first edition 2018 has been a blast. More than an hundred of paddlers joined the river and its famous bridges. Professional riders included. The champs Bruno Hasulyo (HUN) and Olivia Piana (FRA) won the Uffizi Sup Race, awarded with 5,000 euro prize money. And many other excellent names in the SUP panorama have been to enjoy Florence Paddle Games. But the race has been focused even on Junior and amateurs class with races dedicated. As the Junior Uffizi Cup and the Florence Fun Race.
Stand Up Paddle is a sport that is spreading rapidly even in rivers and lakes. This is demonstrated by the Paris Sup Nautic Crossing on the Seine in Paris, or the world-famous 11 City Tour in Holland or the London Sup Open on the Thames. Even for four years Florence has hosted the Uffizi Sup Race, a race born in 2013, which saw hundreds of athletes participate, including international names such as the brothers Bruno Hasulyo, Daniel Hasulyo, Olivia Piana, Leonard Nika, Martino Rogai, Paolo Marconi, Susak Molinero, Chiara Nordio, Claudio Nika, Caterina Stenta, Melanie Lafenetre, Laura Dal Pont and many other excellent names of the SUP panorama.
In 2018, thanks to the new collaboration between Toscanasup.org by Tommaso Pucci, the Florentine athlete Martino Rogai and Innate Sport Excellence by Riccardo Tonini, Florence Paddle Games has been an epic event to be part of, with more than an hundred of paddlers batting on the Arno river and spreading the fun of paddling in the iconic city of Florence.
